Kerry meets Abbas, Palestinian officials in Amman

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the Jordanian capital of Amman on Friday, June 28 to discuss U.S. efforts to restart peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians, according to The Jerusalem Post.

The leaders did not address the media before the meeting.

Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat and senior Abbas aide Nabil Abu Rudeineh were also present at the meeting.

Kerry, who met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Thursday night, was scheduled to return to Israel for further talks with Netanyahu on Friday.
