LG has launched a video campaign teasing its rumoured Optimus G2 smartphone, Digital Spy said.
The South Korean company has a product unveiling scheduled for August 7 in New York City and the clip all but confirms that the device in question will be a new addition to its Optimus line.
Touted as a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One, the Optimus G2 is expected to feature a 2.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera and a full HD display.
LG is yet to release a flagship Optimus handset in Britain, but the firm's head of mobile Won Kim has revealed ambitions to challenge the market leaders in the territory.
The current LG Optimus, which runs Android 4.1.2 and packs a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, is available only in South Korea, Japan, Canada and the US.
Purported leaked photographs of the LG Optimus G2 appeared online last month.
