Winemakers Association chief predicts unprecedented grape harvest

An unprecedented grape harvest is expected in 2013, the head of the Association of Winemakers said.

As Avag Harutyunyan told a July 10 news conference, 15% increase in crop volume is expected despite the recent severe hail in Armavir province.

The Association head forecasted a 24% increase in production of wine in January –May 2013 compared with 2012, to total 1982 thous. liters.

In January-May 2013, brandy production will drop by 7% from 2012, to total 6235,9 thous. liters, he said.
