ICRC: no meeting with Armenian solider in Azeri captivity organized yet

Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have not met with Armenian solider Hakob Injighulyan in Azerbaijani captivity yet.

Injighulyan was brought to Baku and handed over to the Ministry of Defense, said Shahin Sailov, the Secretary of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons.

It was clarified that the Armenian got lost and crossed into the territory controlled by Azerbaijani armed forces, Sailov said, confirming the earlier reports.

Injighulyan, born in 1991, crossed into the territory controlled by Azerbaijani armed forces on Aug 8.

According to Sailov, a meeting with the representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is supposed to be organized this week for them learn whether he wants to return to Armenia, or to depart to a third country.

However, no meeting has been arranged so far, members of ICRC office in Yerevan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.
