Turkish shepherd tried to attack Russian border guards - paper

Turkish authorities completed a probe into the death of a shepherd who crossed into Armenia from the country’s border. According to Taraf newspaper, Mustafa Ülker twice tried to attack Russian border guards.

As the probe showed, Turkish shepherds got into the habit of tending flock in the Armenian territory and were warned against crossing the border by Russian border patrol.

Later, the patrol was forced to confiscate part of the cattle, which was further returned by the Armenian side after negotiations. However, some of the animals were injured, with part of the cattle owned by Ulker.

To take revenge, Ulker crossed the border at night wearing a uniform; he then fired at the Russian border guards and was killed as the latters returned fire.
