Samsung launches Galaxy Tab 3 kids' edition

Samsung is to launch a special kid-friendly version of its Galaxy Tab 3, which features a tough construction specially designed for younger users, Digital Spy said.

Also included is a full suite of child-safe applications, from eBooks and games to educational apps.

The tablet runs a simplified version of Android 4.1 to make it easier to use.

The Galaxy Tab Kids is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and uses a 1024 x 600 resolution display.

It includes both front and rear cameras as well as 8GB of internal storage for saving images. There is a microSD expansion slot should you want to save more.

The tablet is currently planned for sale in Korea next month, but will eventually be available in the UK, US, Europe, China and Africa.

Pricing is still to be confirmed by Samsung.
