Deputy Prime Minister, Territorial Administration Minister Armen Gevorgyan visited Kapan, the regional center of Armenia’s Syunik province to familiarize himself with the course of programs implemented and problems faced in the process.

A discussion on the Kapan airport relaunch project was on Gevorgyan’s visit agenda, with the representatives of the General Department of Civil Aviation participating.

As agreed at the meeting, the governor of the province will discuss the issue with local businessmen, with final financial calculations and offers to be submitted to the government in September, Territorial Administration Ministry press service said.

Kapan airports had stopped operations amid Azeri shelling and haven’t been opened since.
