Rovio unveils Angry Birds Go karting game

Angry Birds Go has been announced by Rovio, Digital Spy said.

Inspired by the Red Bull Soapbox Race, the Angry Birds karting game was unveiled by Rovio's Kalle Kaivola, who explained that the team experimented with other game types before settling on a kart racer.

"We've been playing around with a bunch of different game concepts for a while now, and it turns out that some of them were more successful than others," Kaivola revealed.

"First we tried endless runner games, since we really love to play those. The field tests didn't quite work out, though.

"This is when our friends at Red Bull helped us out with another game concept and right away we all got really excited.

"The moment the kart fell apart in front of our eyes, we just knew it felt right. So simple; so beautiful."

Kaivola explained that the game needs more fine tuning before it can be officially unveiled to the public, but promised a big announcement soon.

Rovio recently announced plans to release Angry Birds Star Wars on consoles. The firm also intends to release an Angry Birds Star Wars sequel, which will focus on the prequel trilogy.
