$102.2 Million Allocated to Repair Javakheti Roads
Kocks Consult GmbH German company will hold a pilot research and will present the final project on repair of the roads of Samtskhe-Javakheti (region of Georgia populated by Armenians) to Millennium Challenge Corporation. The preliminary phase will cost $3.196 million out of 4.1 million allocated by the US to the Georgian Government within the Millennium Challenge Account. Most of roads of Georgia that are subject to repair pass through Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kvemo-Kartli. Repair works at the part of approximately 245 km will begin in 2007. $102.2 million are assigned for repair of Samtskhe-Javakheti roads, which makes most of the sum, provided to Georgia for a program that costs $295.3 million. An open international tender will be held for selecting a construction firm, reports A-Info.
