LG unveils G Pad 8.3 tablet to be released in winter

LG has officially announced its latest tablet product. The G Pad 8.3 marks a return to the tablet market for the company for the first time since 2011's Optimus Pad, Digital Spy said.

The South Korean company claims that it is the first to build an 8-inch tablet sporting a 1920x1200 WUXGA (widescreen ultra extended graphics array) full HD screen.

A 1.7GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Processor is on board the 8.3-inch Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 device, as well as 16GB of storage, 2GB of RAM4 and a 4600 mAh battery.

Two cameras are also included, with 5-megapixels on the rear and 1.3-megapixels on the front.

The tablet will be available in black and white colours sometime in the fourth quarter but prices will be revealed at launch time. The company added that North America, Europe, Asia and other regions will have access to the device.

LG will debut the G Pad 8.3 at the IFA 2013 trade show in Berlin next week.

The company's Bulgarian mobile communications head Dimitar Valev recently claimed that it is planning to release a range of new portable devices, including tablets and a smartwatch.
