Turkish Ambassador Hopes for Baku Not to Decline Relations with Turk Cypriots
No one can prevent Azerbaijan from developing cultural and economic ties with the unrecognized Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Turan Morali said. «I do not think official Baku will refuse from developing ties with Turk Cypriots,» Morali underscored. To remind, the International Crisis Group (ICG) arrived at a conclusion that the problem caused by the flight from Azerbaijan to Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic on June 27 last year has remained unsolved. According ICG representative in Baku Vugar Gojayev, "The Greek Cyprus worries that Azerbaijan will recognize the independence of Turkish Cyprus after approval of action plan between Azerbaijan and the EU. So, they stipulate that official Baku should undertake written commitment never to recognize the independence of Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic and not to implement flights destined there," Vugar Gojayev said
