Arthur Abraham to fight Italy's Giovanni De Carolis Oct 26

Arthur Abraham already had his next fight date secured, but now has a dance partner for the October 26 session in Oldenburg, Germany. Italy's Giovanni De Carolis has been tabbed as the opponent of choice for the former two division champion's next bout, BoxingScene said.

"Finally there is clarity for me," said Abraham. "Now I will have to study my next opponent on tape together with my coach Ulli Wegner."

De Carolis (20-4, 10KO) enters the fight riding an eight-fight win streak. However, the showdown with Abraham - even a well past-prime version - marks a massive leap in competition and also his first ever fight outside of Italy.

Abraham (37-4, 28KO) is coming off of a struggling points win over Willbeforce Shihepo this past August, which marked his first appearance since a shocking knockout loss in his title fight rematch with Robert Stieglitz in March.

The win over Shihepo granted Abraham status as mandatory challenger to the title he lost to - and previously won from - Stieglitz. Rather than waiting for the rubber match to materialize, the 33-year old opted to take a stay busy bout.

Even with just over a month to prepare, the fact that Abraham knows he will be facing allows him to make the necessary adjustments in camp.

"With the perfect preparation and strategy there is no doubt in my mind that I will leave the ring as the winner come October 26."
