Russia to provide up-to-date weaponry to CSTO member states

Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Nikolay Bordyuzha said Russia will provide up-to-date weaponry to the CSTO member states.

“The program of the defense technology deliveries has been already approved by the Presidents and terms of supplies are being presently determined. On October 22, military experts will gather in Moscow to discuss the issue,” Bordyuzha said, according to ITAR-TASS.

As Novosti Armenia reports, the CSTO chief also said the organization never faced an opinion of deploying its peacekeepers in conflict zones, including Transnistria and Nagorno Karabakh.

However, he said that the CSTO leadership will in the near future contact the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations for assessment of the CSTO peacekeepers’ preparedness.

Besides, an anti-drug operation center will be created within the CSTO.
