Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan instructed the Minister of Finance David Sargsyan to once again apply for the Millennium Challenge Corporation financing.

As the Prime Minister stated, Washington positively assessed the Armenia-implemented Millennium Challenge program. “With all the goals fulfilled, we have another chance to apply for financing,” the official said, noting certain progress in the field of corruption risks, previously considered a weak spot.

However, he said, probability of financing seems low, in view of a number of applying countries.

In 2006, the U.S. Government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and the Government of Armenia signed a compact designed to reduce rural poverty through a sustainable increase in the economic performance of the agricultural sector.
