Today Armenian President Robert Kocharian met with U.S. Congressmen Jim Kolbe and Scott Garett as well as Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, Ambassador John Danilovich, reported the RA leader's press office. During the meeting the President remarked with satisfaction that the Armenian-American relations are dynamically developing and expanding. For his part Mr. Kolbe welcomed Armenia's peacekeeping mission in Iraq. Expressing gratitude for the financial assistance rendered to Armenia within the Millennium Challenge Account the RA President stated Armenia abides by democracy and liberalization. Robert Kocharian assessed the program as very important, since it covers the regions of the republic. In his words, it will contribute to reduction of difference between the development rate of the capital city and the rural areas.

The parties also noted the importance of the perfection of the Electoral Code to raise the level of conduction of the elections expected in Armenia in 2007 and 2008. Besides, they referred to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.
