Edgars Rinkēvičs welcomed the intensification of negotiations on the settlement of the conflict. The minister called on the parties to avoid militant rhetoric and take confidence-building measures.

As Philippe Lefort, European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia told joirnalists after the meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, current dynamics of the Karabakh settlement talks and possible EU support in the process was discussed.
