"Life of Pi" scribe to pen fourth “Chronicles of Narnia”

"The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair" has found a writer to pen its script. David Magee, who wrote Ang Lee's award-winning "Life of Pi", is billed to work on the screenplay for the upcoming fourth installment of "Chronicles of Narnia" movie franchise, AceShowbiz said.

"I have always loved 'The Chronicles of Narnia' and I endlessly imagined myself finding my own passage into Narnia someday," Magee says. "All these years later, I'm getting to fulfill that wish just a little bit by writing the film adaptation of 'The Silver Chair' and could not be more excited about it."

The first film, "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe", was released in 2005, followed by "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" in 2008 and "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" in 2010. Those three films combined have grossed over $1.6 billion worldwide.

Andrew Adamson helmed the first two for Disney, and Michael Apted directed the third one when it moved to Fox. Mark Gordon Company and C.S. Lewis Company are producing the new project, but no director and distributor are announced just yet.
