Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan have embarked on the development of the single transportation policy, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission told reporters following the December 5 Moscow-hosted meeting of transport chiefs of the Customs Union member states, BelTA reported.

Danial Akhmetov noted that the single transportation policy will extend to the market of transportation services and imply common development strategies for all types of transport and establishment of international transport and logistics centers that will cooperate with each other. There will also be common scientific and personnel support for the single transportation policy.

The document on the single transportation policy of the Customs Union is to be passed in the near future, Danial Akhmetov said.

The Minister noted that besides the transport ministers of Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan, the meeting was attended by the transport chiefs of Kyrgyzstan and Armenia. In his words, this allows the countries that declared their intention to join the Customs Union to be part of the decision-making process, including in the transport industry.
