Google Nexus 8 tablet in the works at LG: report

LG is working on a new Nexus tablet for Google, a report suggests, according to Digital Spy.

A device codenamed the LG V510 was revealed during Bluetooth certification testing, with Evleaks claiming the unannounced slate is a new addition to the Nexus range.

The source claims that a database entry for the tablet includes the text "USG/Google_open_16G (United States)".

A mystery Google tablet recently appeared in a promotional image for the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, with reports suggesting that it will arrive on the market as the Nexus 8.

LG, which recently launched a similarly-sized tablet in the shape of the G Pad 8.3, is now thought to be the manufacturer behind the Nexus 8.

Google recently enlisted the services of the South Korean company to develop its Nexus 5 smartphone, which was released last month.
