ZTE gets 2.5 million pre-orders for Nubia Z5S, Nubia Z5S Mini

ZTE has managed to score 2.5 million pre-orders for its newly announced Nubia Z5S and Nubia Z5S Mini smartphones. Both devices will initially be available in China, but we do expect to see them launched all around the world in early 2014, IntoMobile reports.

In a press release, ZTE compares its success to the one of Xiaomi, saying that the new Nubia phones surpass previous record set by the vendor that is often referred as Apple of China.

“At Nubia, we want to re-define user experience and become a true `Internet phone’ brand,” said Mr. Ni Fei, General Manager of Nubia. “We are committed to product excellence, and we want to stand tall in comparison with all the leading smartphone brands. To achieve this, we are open to feedback from users so we can truly earn their confidence and trust, and we will leverage ZTE’s high-quality supply chain to give users a high-quality and comprehensive online purchase experience.”

The ZTE Nubia Z5S pricing starts at 1,999 Yuan ($329), while its Mini sibling goes for 1,499 Yuan ($246). Both phones come with 3G connectivity.
