The first trailer for the Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt sci-fi actioner Edge of Tomorrow has arrived, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Fiery explosions, ominous alien invasion imagery, a sparse score and action figure-style equipment are all present in the clip, which establishes the story of Cruise as a soldier who dies in a fight with aliens.

The twist? He "now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop -- forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again … and again," reads the synopsis.

The Warner Bros. title, directed by Doug Liman, has set a release date of June 6, 2014. The studio has teased the title with the tagline "Live.Die.Repeat."
