“Nebraska” hit drama star Bruce Dern talks Hollywood

Bruce Dern has suggested that today's Hollywood stars are too open with their personal lives, Digital Spy reported.

The Nebraska actor told Parade that Hollywood has changed dramatically since he made his first film over 50 years ago.

"My generation got a chance to work with the legends. But you can't be bigger than life today," he commented.

The actor continued: "Too many people want to know what you do after work. You can't be a mystery anymore."

Dern also offered advice on how to sustain a 50-year career in the movie industry.

"Understand at the very beginning that it's an endurance contest," he said. "Nobody makes it overnight. If they do, they're gone in a decade."

The 77-year-old star is being honoured with the Career Achievement Award at the upcoming Palm Springs International Film Festival.
