In addition to mobile devices where it’s still fighting an onslaught of ARM-based chip makers, Intel is also looking at the smart wearables space for growth.

Last year, the chip making giant unveiled Quark X1000, a range of small chips aimed at this sector, and this year – they’ll be taking one step further. In fact, new Quark SoCs along with few wearable devices are expected to be seen at their booth in Vegas, IntoMobile reports.

“What you will see at CES is that we are actually going to bring some very innovative wearables to the show that are developed and manufactured here,” said Brian Krzanich, Intel’s CEO. “We’ll show you some things that you would never have thought could become smart and communicate.”
