D.J. Caruso to helm “Selling Time” thriller, Will Smith circling lead role

Things are coming back around again for Selling Time, the supernatural thriller at 20th Century Fox. D.J. Caruso is signing on to direct, and he will oversee a new draft by Dan McDermott that is being written in hopes that Will Smith will star in the film. John Davis and Jennifer Klein will produce with McDermott, Deadline said.

Though he still has not committed to starring, Smith has long been interested in playing the lead role in the thriller about a man who sells chunks of his life in an attempt to relive the worst day of his life so that he can change a tragedy.

There have been numerous incarnations by various scriptwriters including Spike Lee and Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes scribes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. But now McDermott is going to take another pass at the script with Caruso, who helmed Disturbia, Eagle Eye and I Am Number Four.
