Russian Public Television to Screen Atom Egoyan's "Ararat"
Well-known Canadian film director Atom Egoyan's "Ararat" will be screened by the Russian Public Television (ORT) on April 24 night, RA President Assistant Vigen Sargsyan stated at a press conference. In his words, it will be an important step targeted at commemoration of the Armenian Genocide recognition. He also informed that various events dedicated to the Genocide anniversary will be held in the regions of Russia when Armenian communities reside. "Russia is among the states where the Armenian Genocide is termed Genocide," Vigen Sargsyan reminded. To note, in 1995 the Russian State Duma officially recognized the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire in 1915-1923," reported Novosti-Armenia.
