Stockholm hosts Dink commemorative event

The seventh commemoration ceremony of the slain Armenian-Turkish journalist and Agos weekly editor, Hrant Dink, was held in Stockholm, Sweden.

The event was jointly organized by the Union of Armenian Associations in Sweden, Swedish Support Committee for Human Rights in Turkey, ABF Stockholm, Swedish Journalist Association and Swedish PEN.

The list of speakers included representatives for the above-mentioned organizations, among others, Chairperson of the Union of Kurdish Associations in Sweden, Shermin Bozarslan, Member of Riksdag, Jacob Johnson (Chairman of the Swedish Support Committee for Human Rights in Turkey), Pär Trehörning, Swedish Journalist Association and Swedish PEN International Secretary, Ola Wallin, who all addressed the alarming situation in Turkey, which is considered to be the top journalist jailer in the world.

Turkish editor and human right activist Ragip Zarakolu, who arrived in Sweden recently, newly appointed Artak Apitonyan, as well as the spokesman of the Union of Armenian Associations in Sweden, Vahagn Avedian, also delivered speeches.
