Sony “planning to launch Xperia Z2 tablet at Mobile World Congress”

Sony is seemingly planning to launch its Xperia Z2 tablet at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) next week, according to Digital Spy.

Reliable tipster Evleaks brings word of the Android device's existence, along with specs details for the Xperia Tablet Z successor.

The 10.1-inch slate will reportedly be powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 3GB of RAM, and come with a 1920 x 1200 Triluminos display on board.

Other features include an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, 2-megapixel front-facing snapper, a 6,000mAh battery and Android 4.4 Jelly Bean.

The device is said to be fully waterproof and measure in at just 6.4mm thick.

Sony is expected to unveil the Xperia Z2 table alongside its Xperia Z2 smartphone at MWC, which takes place in Barcelona from February 24.
