Music Box has picked up rights in the U.S. and Canada for Beloved Sisters, the German period drama from Dominik Graf that had its world premiere in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival, The Hollywood Reporter said.

“Dominik Graf, his wonderful performers and production team have brought the Romantic Era and the lives of Schiller and the von Lengefeld sisters to life for 21st century audiences with captivating complexity, detail and drama," said Music Box managing director Edward Arentz in a statement.

Global Screen, who are handling world sales on Beloved Sisters, also closed a deal with Sydney-based distributor Curious for Australian and New Zealand rights to the feature.

Beloved Sisters was produced by German shingle Bavaria in co-production with Wega Film, WS Filmproduciton, Senator Film and several German regional public broadcasters. Senator will release the film in Germany July 31.
