Samsung has confirmed that its next Chromebook will have a faux-leather backing, as suggested in a recent leak, Digital Spy said.
The Chromebook 2 will come in two different models - 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch - starting at $320.
Both budget-busting devices use Samsung's ARM-based Exynos 5 Octa processor alongside 4GB of RAM and 16GB of storage space.
The smaller version uses a 1366 x 768 LED display, while the 13.3-inch variant carries a Full HD 1920 x 1080 screen. The former also has a reduced 1.9GHz compared to the 2.1GHZ on board the larger machine.
Samsung is claiming its 11.6-inch Chromebook 2 can hold up to eight hours of battery life, and half an hour longer on the 13.3-inch device.
The devices also share the same 720p HD webcam, as well as the same amount of ports - one HDMI port, one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port and a microSD card slot.
Both models go on sale in April in the US, costing $320 for the 11.6-inch device - which comes in Jet Black and Classic White - and $400 for the 13.3-inch version in a Luminous Titan Gray colour.
