Azerbaijan claims taking Armenian captive

Azerbaijani media spread reports about an Armenian citizen who “crossed the Armenian-Azeri border in Tovuz region of Azerbaijan.”

According to APA, the secretary of the state commission on POWs, hostages and missing persons, Shahin Sailov, said an Armenian citizen aged 20-22, whose identity is unknown and who doesn’t speak any language except Armenian, is now being transported to Baku.

The Armenian Defense Ministry hasn’t confirmed the reports yet. Spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan said no Armenian soldier crossed the border with Azerbaijan.

Meanwhile, Haqqin.az reported that the name of the captive is Arsen Khojoyan, born in 1991, suggesting that the man could be a relative of Mamikon Khojoyan, the elderly man who was taken captive on Jan 28 and returned to Armenia on March 4.
