LG G3 smartphone to sport water and dust-proof body: report

LG's < b>G3 smartphone could sport a water and dust-proof body, according to a report, Digital Spy said.

Korean website ETNews claims that the company is investing in durable handsets as it believes features such as waterproofing will be major selling points in 2014.

Previous reports suggest that the LG G3 will include a Quad HD display, an octa-core processor, a 16-megapixel rear-camera, and a fingerprint scanner.

The handset has been tipped as a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Sony Xperia Z2, which are both resistant to dust and water.

LG recently expanded its smartphone range with the launch of the LG G Pro 2 phablet and the downsized LG G2 Mini.

The curved-screened LG G Flex went on sale in the UK last month.
