Australian broadcast group Seven West Media and Seven Group Holdings have boarded as co-financiers of Russell Crowe’s “The Water Diviner”, Variety said.

Crowe stars in, produces and directs the picture about a father who travels from Australia to Turkey to discover the fate of his sons who were involved in WWI’s Battle of Gallipoli.

Seven joins Brett Ratner and James Packer’s RatPac Entertainment which is already on board. The film is produced by Hopscotch Features’ Andrew Mason and Troy Lum and Keith Rodger of Crowe’s Fear of God Films.

Entertainment One (formerly Hopscotch) and Universal will jointly release the film in Australia. Universal has the film for France, Germany, Scandinavia, Switzerland, Austria and Benelux. EOne has it in the U.K., Spain and Canada.
