Benicio del Toro to co-star with Emily Blunt in “Sicario” thriller

Benicio del Toro is in final negotiations to co-star with Emily Blunt in Denis Villeneuve’s thriller “Sicario”, Variety reported.

Basil Iwanyk will produce, along with Thad and Trent Luckinbill and Molly Smith through their Black Label Media banner, as well as Edward McDonnell.

Story follows an officer from Tucson, Arizona who travels to Mexico with a pair of mercenaries to track down a drug lord.

Taylor Sheridan penned the script.

Del Toro has a busy year ahead of him with a handful of films set to bow, including “Paradise Lost” where he plays drug lord Pablo Escobar, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” and Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Inherent Vice.”
