Peaceful settlement of conflicts is a commitment of the countries entering the CE, Armenian FM Vartan Oskanian stated at a conference in Yerevan on the 5th anniversary of Armenia's accession to the Council of Europe. In his words, Azerbaijan's militant rhetoric cannot have any good results. «If Azeri authorities keep thinking of solving the Nagorno Karabakh issue by force, expecting Armenia's agreement for compromise will be hard. We can respond to military threats finally. The CE should make it clear to Baku that the solution by force is not possible due to entailing exclusion from the CE. Armenia has made some compromise already, it is now Azerbaijan's turn,» the Armenian FM said.

Oskanian also remarked that in the near future Armenian and Azeri FMs will meet in Strasbourg. «OSCE MG co-chairs will arrive in the region after that,» the Minister said. He added the CE has a very important role in peaceful settlement of the Karabakh issue.
