Huawei rolls out Ascend P7 new flagship smartphone

Huawei has lifted the lid on its new flagship smartphone, the Ascend P7, Digital Spy reported.

The 4G-ready handset features an ergonomic design with rounded edges, comprising seven layers of premium metals and Gorilla Glass.

Measuring in at 6.5mm thin, the device is considerably slimmer than its competitors in the Android market and comes with minimal bezel around its 5-inch display.

The Ascend P7 boasts a screen resolution of 1080x1920 and is capable of displaying 445 pixels per inch, a higher ratio than the iPhone 5S and the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Huawei is touting the device as the ultimate smartphone for selfies, coming with an 8-megapixel camera on the front and a five-piece aspherical lens.

Software features such as Automatic Beauty Enhancement and a Smart Preview Window have been included to help users capture better self portrait images.

A 'Groufie' mode is also available for panoramic group selfies.

A 13-megapixel camera developed by Sony resides on the rear, allowing users to take professional-grade photos with the aid of a DSLR-level image signal processing chip.

Under the hood, the Ascend P7 features a quad-core 1.8GHz Cotex-A9 processor and 2GB of RAM, along with a Mali-450MP4 graphics chip.

The handset comes with 16GB of internal storage on board, expandable via microSD, and runs Google's Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box.

The Huawei Ascend P7 will be available later this month.
