National Oncology Center gets new diagnostic device

This year VivaCell-MTS supported the National Oncology Center in getting a modern ultrasonic diagnostic device Xario 200 by allocating AMD 25 million. Unlike other ultrasonic devices, this one is endowed with necessary transmitters for vascular duplex scanning and myocardial ultrasound examinations.

“The aim of our cooperation with this center is vital. The tests done with modern medical equipment will enable the specialists to understand the problem more clearly and outline the best course of treatment. Cancer is considered as the main evil of the 21st century. The main evil, though, is indifference. I believe the time will come when this disease will be removed from the list of incurable diseases. Care, the willingness to succeed and the joined efforts helped to achieve the goals,” VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian said.

The National Oncology Center provides medical assistance to more than 3200 patients from all over Armenia, providing antineoplastic chemotherapy to 4500 and radiation treatment to 1500 patients annually. The new equipment now available in the center will seriously help in early diagnosis of malignant tumors and in improvement of long-term results of the treatment.

VivaCell-MTS says the struggle against cancer is a major challenge of the century and has been readily stretching hand to the National Oncology Center since 2010, with a total investment of over AMD 115 million during these years.
