Samsung has announced that it will hold a product launch in New York City next month, Digital Spy reported.

The South Korean firm has distributed invitations for an event referred to as Galaxy Premiere 2014, scheduled to take place on June 12.

The invites bear the slogan "Tab into colour", suggesting that a range of tablets coming in a variety of colours could be revealed at the press conference.

Samsung has been tipped to unveil its Galaxy Tab S range at the event, a line of high-end tablets with 10.5-inch AMOLED screens and octa-core Exynos 5 processors on board.

Leaked photographs of the Galaxy Tab S appear to confirm that it will feature a similar design to the Galaxy Tab 4 line and the Galaxy S5 smartphone.

Elsewhere, recent reports suggest that Samsung is planning to release a headset to rival Google Glass in September.
