Samsung's Galaxy S5 Prime smartphone has appeared in what are claimed to be leaked photographs of the device.

Phone Arena has published images of a Galaxy S5 with an aluminium body, believed to be the rumoured premium edition of the handset.

The device is said to feature a 5.1-inch 2K display with a 2560x1440-pixel resolution and 3GB of RAM, as well as a Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor.

Previous leaks suggest that the phone's camera specs and connectivity options will remain the same as the standard model of the Galaxy S5.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Samsung is developing two new Galaxy S5 variants under the codenames of 'Prime' and 'Active'.
