Vertu unveils Signature Touch $11,300 luxury smartphone

If you thought the iPhone cost the earth, Vertu's new Signature Touch smartphone may leave you weak at the knees, Digital Spy said.

The luxury mobile phone retailer has launched its hand-made Android 4.4 handset, which costs an eye-watering $11,300.

A single piece of titanium is used around the frame, while the 4.7-inch 1080p screen is protected by a 118 carat, 5.1-inch piece of sapphire crystal.

The luxury extends to the back of the phone with a choice of lizard skin or leather, alongside a genuine ruby button which can be found on the side.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 2.3GHz processor can be found on the inside, supported by 2GB of RAM, 64GB of storage space and ten different LTE bands.

Bang & Olufsen 'symphony' speakers are also used, as well as a 13-megapixel camera on the back, 2.1-megapixel camera on the front, NFC support, Qi wireless charging and 473ppi resolution.

There are a bunch of premium Vertu services aimed at those with deep pockets too, including a 24-hour concierge platform for help with "your every request" and an app for access to exclusive events.
