Shots registered before Artsakh-Azerbaijani contact line monitoring

On June 10, in accordance with the agreement reached with the authorities of the Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic, the OSCE Mission conducted planned monitoring of the line of contact between the NKR and Azerbaijani armed forces in the Hadrut direction near Horadiz settlement.

From the positions of the NKR Defense Army, the monitoring was held by Field Assistant of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Yevgeny Sharov (Ukraine) and staff member of the Office Peter Svedberg, as well as by representative of the OSCE High-Level Planning Group (HLPG) Lieutenant-Colonel Dan Harvey (Ireland), the press office of the NKR Foreign Ministry reported.

From the opposite side, the monitoring was conducted by Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk and his Field Assistant Khristo Khristov (Bulgaria), as well as by representative of the OSCE High-Level Planning Group (HLPG) Colonel Ilhami Deghirmenchioghlu (Turkey).

Before the start of the monitoring, shots were registered from the Azerbaijani side towards the Karabakh positions. Although the monitoring passed in line with the schedule, the Azeri side did not lead the OSCE mission to its front-lines.

From the Karabakh side, the monitoring mission was accompanied by representatives of the NKR Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense.
