Nike+ FuelBand app becomes available on Android devices

The Nike+ FuelBand app is now available for Android devices for the first time, Digital Spy said.

Samsung's Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5, the HTC One, the Nexus 5, and the Moto X are the first Google OS-based phones to receive the fitness software.

The application syncs with the Nike+ FuelBand SE wearable accessory via Bluetooth LE, monitoring the user's everyday activity and workouts.

Features of the Android app include the option to create and edit goals, monitor deliberate periods of movement such as workouts, set activity reminders every hour, and compare data with friends in the NikeFuel community.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Nike is scaling back its FuelBand division in favour of collaborating with Apple on wearable technology.

The Nike+ FuelBand app is available as a free download through Google Play in the US, UK, Canada, Germany and Japan.
