“The Drop” crime drama features James Gandolfini, Tom Hardy

Just a few days after the one-year anniversary of James Gandolfini’s death, the international trailer for his final film “The Drop” hit the web, showing a bit of the late actor’s last performance, Variety reported.

Tom Hardy also stars as ex-con Bob Saginowski, a bartender just trying to lead his life down the right path. However, he, along with his friends and family, is thrown into trouble after a robbery goes awry. Gandolfini plays Marv, Hardy’s character’s cousin. Noomi Rapace and Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts also star.

“Are you doing something different?” asks Hardy’s character in the trailer. “Something that we can’t clean up this time?”

The Fox Searchlight crime drama is based on the short story “Animal Rescue” written by Dennis Lehana, who also wrote “Gone Baby Gone,” “Shutter Island” and “Mystic River.” “Bullhead” helmer Michael R. Roskam directs.

“The Drop” is set to hit theaters Sept. 12.
