HTC working on 9-inch Nexus tablet: report

HTC could be working on a new 9-inch small form factor Nexus tablet, Digital Spy said.

Information posted on technology blog Android Police points to an Nvidia-powered tablet with a design scheme not unlike that of the current generation Nexus 5 smartphone.

The tablet will reportedly be called the Nexus 9 and will feature a 2080 x 1440 8.9-inch screen paired up with Nvidia's 64-bit Logan processor.

Other specifications include an optically stabilised 8-megapixel camera as well as an 'aluminium zero gap' construction.

In terms of size, the device will be smaller than the previous generation Nexus 7, but a touch heavier than some of the top of the line offerings from Samsung and Apple.

No release date is confirmed, but rumours are pointing to late 2014 alongside a new version of Android.

Pricing is said to start at $399, which is a significant step up over the original Nexus 7.
