Microsoft OneDrive boosts storage options to match Google

Microsoft has boosted its OneDrive cloud storage options, giving more space for less, Digital Spy said.

As part of the move, the company is doubling its free storage subscription from 7GB to 15GB, matching the amount Google Drive offers.

Office 365 subscribers will also get more for their money, with an increased storage capacity of 1TB at no extra cost.

Office 365 Personal users currently pay $10 a month, Office 365 Home costs $14 a month and those at university can pay $102 for a four-year subscription.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is also reducing the price of other storage price plans, bringing 100GB down to $3.4 a month.

The new price plans will come into effect from next month and existing users will be automatically moved across to the lower prices.
