Isabelle Huppert will add to her trophy case of lifetime achievement honors when the Munich International Film Festival presents the legendary French actress with its CineMerit Award, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Huppert, whose numerous accolades include a Bafta, two acting Palm d'Ors in Cannes, a Cesar and numerous European Awards, will attend the Munich Fest to present her latest feature, Paris Follies from director Marc Fitoussi.

The 2014 Munich festival kicks off Friday with Jean-Pierre Jeunet's The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet. Jeunet will attend the German premiere of his literary adaptation along with the film's young star Kyle Catlett.

Other festival VIPs include the German actor, and CineMerit honoree, Udo Kier (Blade) and U.S. cult director Walter Hill (48 hours, The Warriors), who will receive a retrospective of his life's work.

Bollywood star Irrfan Khan (Slumdog Millionaire, Life of Pi) will also make the trip to Munich to present his latest, Qissa The Tale of a Lonely Ghost, from director Anup Singh.

Munich's 2014 line-up includes some of Cannes' critical favorites, including Jury Grand Prix winner The Wonders from Italy's Alice Rohrwacher, Tommy Lee Jones' The Homesman, Andrey Zvyagintsev's Russian drama Leviathan, Jean-Luc Goddard's jury prize winner Farewell to Language, the Dardenne brothers' acclaimed Two Days, One Night starring Marion Cotillard and Salt of the Earth, a documentary from Wim Wenders and Juliano Ribeiro Salgado which won the special jury prize of the Un Certain Regard sidebar.

As always, Munich has given pride of place to new German films, among them bestseller adaptation The Chef starring Jessica Schwarz, The Hotel Room with local box-office draw Florian David Fitz and The King Surrenders featuring Ronald Zehrfeld and Frederick Lau.

Mike Cahill will close the 2014 Munich festival on July 5 with a screening of his sci-fi drama I Origins, accompanied by the film's stars Michael Pitt and Astrid Berges-Frisbey.
