CBS Films has acquired the film rights to the three Atlantis e-books by A.G. Riddle, The Hollywood Reporter said.
The first e-book in the "Origin trilogy," The Atlantis Gene, was self-published and released in March 2013. It was followed by The Atlantis Plague in November 2013 and The Atlantis World in May 2014. The final e-book reached No. 1 on the Amazon Science Fiction rankings.
The story follows a brilliant geneticist and an international counterterrorism agent who must team up to thwart a global pandemic and discover the truth behind the origins of humanity.
Riddle worked in Internet-centric companies for a decade before writing the sci-fi series.
Creative executive Winnie Kemp is overseeing the project for CBS Films.
