Glendale to host Joan Quinn Captured exhibition

Joan Quinn Captured exhibition will open Saturday, June 28 at the Brand Library & Art Center, Glendale, CA.

This unique event celebrates and highlights one of Armenia’s esteemed daughters, Joan Agajanian Quinn life, referred to as the "Culture Queen" or the "Gertrude Stein of her day" amongst the artist satellites of Los Angeles, New York and London.

The exhibition will showcase what is perhaps the largest portrait collection by contemporary artists in the world, including such luminaries as Jean Michel Basquait, Shepard Fairey, Frank Gehry, Robert Graham, David Hockney, Ed Ruscha, Beatrice Wood and photographers Robert Mapplethorpe, Helmut Newton, Mathew Ralston and Arthur Tress.

Joan Quinn Captured will celebrate the artists in an extended film and public discussion series of six events taking place at The Brand Art Center Recital Hall between June 28 and July 31, 2014.

The works of Armenian artists such as Lucie Abdalian, Zareh Meguerditchian and Silvina Der-Merguerdichian are included in the exhibition.

Joan Agajanian Quinn, with husband, attorney John J. Quinn, and twin daughters Jennifer & Amanda, has been a supporter of the arts for over 35 years; particularly Southern California Contemporary Art. A Los Angeles native, she is the creator, writer, producer and host of "The Joan Quinn Profiles", a series of over 400 complete shows. It is a 30 minute interview show with a 2 guest format relating to the ins and the outs of the art world and the many facets of show-business.
