Nick Robinson and Alex Roe will star opposite Chloe Moretz in Sony’s sci-fier “The 5th Wave.” GK Films topper Graham King is producing with Tobey Maguire and Matthew Plouffe of Material Pictures. Sony is co-financing and distributing.

J Blakeson will direct from a script by Susannah Grant, who adapted Rick Yancey’s YA novel. GK Films made the casting announcement Friday, June 27 via Twitter.

Moretz portrays a 16-year-old who survives four waves of deadly attacks against the Earth’s population and meets a mysterious young man, played by Roe.

Roe is a British actor who appeared in horror movie “The Calling.” Robinson starred in “The Kings of Summer” and will appear in Universal’s “Jurassic World.”
