Japan’s “My Man” wins best film, actor at Moscow Film Fest

Kazuyoshi Kumakiri's My Man (Watashi no Otoko) won the best film award at the Moscow International Film Festival on Saturday, June 28 with Tadanobu Asano (Thor, 47 Ronin) taking best actor for his role as a man who becomes romantically involved with his adopted daughter, The Hollywood Reporter said.

My Man is based on a novel by Kazuki Sakuraba and stars Fumi Nikaido (Himizu) as the daughter who lost her family in a tsunami that hit Japan's northern island of Hokkaido in 1993.

It is the first victory in Moscow for a Japanese film since Kaneto Shindo's Will to Live in 1999.
