Andy Serkis joins “Avengers: Age of Ultron”

Andy Serkis has confirmed he has a role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Digital Spy said.

The actor is already working as a consultant on the film through his motion-capture company The Imaginarium, but Serkis revealed to Variety that he will also make an appearance in some capacity.

"The Imaginarium is the performance capture consultant," he said, "and I'm playing a role [in both Avengers and Star Wars].

"On Avengers, I've been working closely with Mark Ruffalo."

When asked whether his face will appear in the film, Serkis replied: "I'm not at liberty to mention. But it's all the same to me. I've never drawn a distinction when playing a role, whether it be live action or performance capture.

"Acting is acting. It's just basically what you wear to the set that's different."

Serkis was originally hired for the Marvel sequel to help with advances in motion capture technology and to assist Ruffalo with his role as The Hulk.

He adds: "There are tools and ways of working with an actor that makes them feel that they own the character, and a character the size of the Hulk needs ownership, which Mark has now."

Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released in the UK on April 24, 2015 and in the US on May 1.
